| The forty sixth annual Delaware
County Cross Country Championships were held on Saturday October 10,
2009 at Rose Tree Park, Media. Seven hundred and fifth runners from
twenty three Delaware County high schools
registered for the event sponsored by the Delco Road Runners Club. Five hundred and nineteen runners finished
the 3.1 mile course. The weather was mostly sunny with temperatures in the low seventies.
Cardinal O'Hare High School won the varsity
boys' race with 63 points. Haverford High
School scored 76 points for second place and Strath Haven High
School was third with 88 points. .
Notre Dame Academy won the varsity girls' race for the first time with 61 points.
Strath Haven High School was second with
69 points and Cardnial O'Hare High School was third with 99 points.
The Girls' Junior Varsity Team Award went to Cardinal O'Hara
High School with a score of 35 points. The Boys' Junior
Varsity Team Award went to Haverford High School with a score of
20 points.
